Description: The Art Institute of Atlanta was founded in 1949 as the Massey Business College and was renamed in 1975. It offers associate of arts degrees in culinary arts, fashion marketing, interior design, Web site administration, photographic imaging, graphic design, computer animation, multimedia, and video production, and a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design and graphic design. Diploma programs are offered in advertising design, commercial photography, and residential interiors. The school has programs for professionals in the above fields who want to update or acquire new skills. In June 1999 the college moved to a new location in the northern suburbs. The institute’s five-story, 115,000-square-foot facilities include IBM and Macintosh computer labs, a multicamera video studio, a computer animation lab, audio and video production and editing studios, photography studios, an interior design resource library, and teaching kitchens and a dining lab that doubles as a high-end teaching restaurant open to the public. More than 3,400 students attend classes here.
