Description: A project of the George West Mental Health Foundation, Skyland Trail serves adults with mental illness through innovative and individualized treatment that improves mental, physical, and social well-being. Their residential and day treatment includes psychiatric service, primary health care, counseling, and medications. They specialize in addressing bipolar, depression, schizophrenia, and other psychological issues. They also offer a dual diagnosis treatment program to address substance abuse disorders related to a primary mental illness diagnosis. Elements of treatment include a variety of adjunctive therapies—horticulture, art, music, woodworking, and others. Skyland Trail’s three-acre main campus is the center for treatment programs and administration. Two residential campuses, Skyland Trail South and Skyland Trail North, are located nearby. Each campus is staffed by expert clinicians and other professionals with extensive mental health experience.
