Description: South Fulton Medical Center is a 338-bed hospital that provides a wide spectrum of medical services to the south metro Atlanta area. Located in East Point, the hospital is easily accessible from I-85 and I-75. It is part of the Tenet health system. SFMC services include a breast-health center; a primary care center; a free physician referral and health information service; maternity care, complete with a Level II special care nursery; oncology; and cardiology. SFMC’s rehabilitation center is the only facility of its kind south of I-20 for strokes, brain injuries, and bone fractures. The hospital also provides wellness and community outreach programs, nuclear medicine and MRI, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. SFMC’s emergency room is the designated receiving center for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. To meet the area’s growing need for primary care physicians, South Fulton Medical Center has placed physicians specializing in internal medicine, family practice, and OB/GYN in satellite offices throughout the south metro area.
