Description: A huge fish sculpture looms over this popular Buckhead restaurant, which is part of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. Unveiled in November 1995, “the great fish,” a 50-ton solid copper and steel artwork, is either an eyesore or a great Atlanta landmark depending on whom you ask. The sculpture stands on its tail and curves upward, dwarfing the building. Inside, a pleasing combination of casual atmosphere and superior food sets the tone of this restaurant, a 13,000-square-foot complex that includes a lounge, second-floor private dining room, and boutique-style food shop. The menu changes daily based on the availability of fresh seafood in season. Local favorites include stone crab claws and raw oysters. You can order the catch of the day charbroiled or steamed Hong Kong style with fresh ginger and scallions in a light sherry soy sauce. Reservations are suggested for dinner seven nights a week. Lunch is served every day except Sunday. The Fish Market offers cocktails, beer, and wine. The Pano’s Food Shop is the on-site take-out shop.
