Description: Leave your worries (and your shoes) at the door and be swept into the sultan’s palace for an evening of tinkling bells, pulsating drums, and lovely ladies swaying in the old-fashioned (Eastern) way. This promises to be an exotic experience with sinuous veiled dancers and tantalizing aromas and flavors. Be prepared to sit on cushions (if you have a bad back, request extra cushions or be sure to pick a spot against a bolster). Feast on authentic Moroccan cuisine with no MSG, curry, or lard in the dishes. It’s not unusual for a guest (male more often than female) to spontaneously stand and dance with a performer, which adds to the evening’s fun. There are special prices for children 12 and younger; otherwise, everyone else at a table must order his or her own entree; no separate checks. A fixed price of $45 per person gets you a six-course meal with selections of soup; five different salads; appetizers; a choice of entrees including lamb, Cornish hen with apricots, and seafood and vegetarian specialties; and dessert of fresh fruits and pastries. Bring extra dollars to place in the dancers’ garb when they dance at your table. Reservations are recommended.
