Description: After years of operating as a “museum without walls” in Atlanta-area schools, Imagine It! opened in March 2003, in a 16,000-square-foot interactive exhibition hall, created with the intention to “create environments and activities where young children experience the power of imagination and the pure delight of learning with each other and with grown-ups.” The museum is divided into seven major areas: Fundamentally Food celebrates food in both form and aspect of life. Let Your Creativity Flow lets children express themselves through movement, manipulation, and sound (think loud!). Tools for Solutions encourages children to engage in creative problem-solving to presented situations, working both individually and cooperatively. Leaping into Learning is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, who find a friendly forest and myriad opportunities for discovery and make-believe. The Family Resource Center offers parents information about raising healthy kids and nursing mothers a private place to feed their infants. There is also a Town Square, which serves as an extended lobby, and the Morph Gallery, which is a changing exhibit gallery intended to host traveling exhibits from around the country. The museum is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $12.50 for persons aged 2 and above.
