Description: Clayton County operates this 200-acre family water and recreation park that hosted the beach volleyball competition during the 1996 Olympic Games. Frolic on the white sandy beach circling an eight-acre spring-fed lake, or enjoy minigolf, two waterslides, paddleboats, a 13-acre fishing lake, and a kiddie pool with a small waterslide. The park also features a tennis center, beach volleyball courts, softball fields, picnic tables, and pavilions for parties, family reunions, and other functions. No alcohol, pets, or glass are permitted. Admission is $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors and kids ages 3 to 12. The park is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. all year long. The beach is open on weekends in May and September from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; during the summer the hours are extended—10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Monday. Inclement weather may force the beach to close, so it’s best to call ahead.
