Description: Grown-ups and kids alike will have a great time at this beach and water park, with Wild Waves, Georgia’s largest wave pool, and spine-tingling waterslides, including the Intimidator, the Triple Threat, and the Twister. SplashDown and Racing Waters are twin-flume speed slides guaranteed to thrill, and Blackout sends riders down 160 feet of water in total darkness. Chattahoochee Rapids let you inner tube through more than 725 feet of winding, shooting rapids. Smaller kids will enjoy Wiggle Waves, a kiddie wave pool featuring 6- to 12-inch waves, two 8-foot slides, and colorful fountains of water bubbles. You can rent a paddleboat, sailboat, or canoe. Take a swim off the 1.5-mile sandy beach, or play 18 holes of miniature golf. Lake Lanier Islands Stables offer trail rides, pony rides, and lessons. Or rent a bike and explore more than 1,200 acres of beautiful woodlands. At South Beach, try out SurfWave (a simulated body-boarding experience), a rock-climbing wall, and video games. South Beach also has a DJ or some form of live entertainment on weekends; North Beach has a DJ from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. all week. Wave-runners are available to those 18 or older for $10 an hour, $5 an hour for each extra rider. Lake Lanier Islands is also a great place for a birthday party. A complete package includes lunch, ice cream, cake, and tickets to the beach and water park. There’s an $8 per car entrance fee to Lake Lanier Islands. Beach and water park admission for adults is $27.99 Monday through Friday, $29.99 Saturday and Sunday, and $25.00 when purchased online. Admission for children under 42 inches tall is $17.99 daily, $15.99 online; admission for age 55 and over $17.99, $16.99 online. The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Legacy on Lanier Golf Club (770-945-8789) is an 18-hole, par 72 course with 13 holes on the lake.
