Description: Calvin Community offers several levels of senior living in the residential neighborhood of Beaverdale, on the west side of Des Moines. Independent-living units include housekeeping service and kitchens, as well as meals available in a separate dining room. Assisted-living units, which make up the largest part of the facility, include numerous sizes of apartments and include housekeeping, laundry, and meals as well as 24-hour nursing services available. There is also a health center, which provides nursing home care, and a memory unit. Each level of care has its own separate dining area, and there are also banking services available for residents and a beauty shop and barber, as well as a computer room, library, and flower and vegetable garden. A social staff organizes activities for residents, including games, music, and other on-site entertainment. There are numerous recreational opportunities, including fitness classes and other wellness programs, as well as outdoor walking trails.
