Description: It’s not easy being named the best pizza in America by GQ magazine, especially when you’re just a minuscule spot where each of the pies is painstakingly made by hand by the owner. But so it goes at this Andersonville restaurant, which has probably earned way more attention than the passionate couple that owns it ever asked for, or possibly even imagined. Three to five pizzas change regularly depending on what seasonal, organic, and local ingredients are available. The restaurant’s seasonal salads even received mention in Chicago’s first Michelin guide in 2011, touting them as “beaming fresh.” Decide for yourself if the inevitable wait is worth it. We sure think so. And you can easily kill some time walking around window-shopping through Andersonville or scouting for a bottle of vino to take back to the BYOB spot. It’s important to note that they don’t take substitutions on pizzas—get them “as is” or not at all—but you won’t be disappointed. Open for dinner Wed through Sat.
