Description: Fans of Sarah Stegner and George Bumbaris’ off-the-beaten path Prairie Grass Cafe in Northbrook will find a closer friend in this West Loop restaurant. Here, the former Ritz-Carlton Chicago chefs continue to spread their love for local ingredients (Stegner, after all, is one of the founders of the city’s famed Green City Market). She incorporates them into dishes like spicy goat sausage, sautéed Lake Superior whitefish, and Niman ranch bacon–topped pizza. Fortunately, their signature blue-cheese burger and stellar eggs Benedict appear on both location’s menus. Settle into a booth in the main dining room of the former Beaux-Arts railroad generator station or at the bar, often packed with after-work locals. Either way, save room for a slice of a scrumptious seasonal pie, made from recipes from Stegner’s mom. Open for lunch Mon through Fri, dinner daily, and brunch on Sat and Sun.
