Description: Baltimore’s Metro provides service between Johns Hopkins Medical Campus to the east and Owings Mills in southwestern Baltimore County. The 15.5-mile subway system has 14 stations scattered east to west across the city. It takes about 25 minutes to reach the Downtown area from Owings Mills. Parking at most stops is free, and the parking at Owings Mills is close to a large mall, Owings Mills Town Center. If you want to head to the city for a day of sightseeing, the subway from Owings Mills is a fun, clean, and affordable way to go. It’s also a great way to get to Johns Hopkins Hospital, which can be a tough place to find parking. Ride passes are available (exact change only) at machines at each stop, and the cost is $1.60 for a one-way fare, or $3.50 for an all-day pass. Subway cars run about every 8 minutes during rush hour, every 10 minutes during the day, and every 15 minutes in the evening and on Saturday. The subway operates from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 6 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Lexington Market East and Charles Center East entrances close at 8 p.m. Bicyclists are welcome to bring bikes except when trains are crowded.
