Description: Baltimore City operates 61 recreation centers throughout the city. The programs range from after-school activities, including study groups and tutorial sessions, to more recreational offerings and summer camp programs.The recreation centers also operate such programs as baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, table tennis, pool, swimming, football, and track and field for toddlers, children, adults, and senior citizens in recreation and therapeutic care. Indoor sports are played within the centers, either in gyms or activities rooms, in schools and on fields at schools and parks. More sedate programs, including crafts, art, painting, and dance, are also offered.The fees for these programs vary, with most costing less than $20 for a full season in a sport.
