Address: 10 Art Museum Dr.

Description: Round out your cultural experience at the Baltimore Museum of Art with a culinary experience at Gertrude’s where John Shields, nationally acclaimed chef, cookbook author, and host of his own syndicated cooking program, gives life to his signature Chesapeake Bay cuisine. The restaurant is named for his German grandmother, Gertie. Shields changes the menu seasonally. When the weather is nice, you’re invited to dine outdoors overlooking the sculpture garden. Tuesdays with Gertie are the best deals in town when the restaurant serves $10 and $12 entrees from the regular dinner menu. Specially priced $18 and $24 bottles of wine are available. Reservations are really suggested for outdoor and Tuesday night dining. Wednesday night (after 4 p.m.) all bottles and glasses of wine are half price and BMA members still receive their usual 10 percent discount. Gertrude’s is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Friday, with brunch also offered on Saturday and Sunday. It is closed on Monday.
