Description: History buffs won’t mind the 18-mile drive south from Gettysburg on U.S. Route 15 that’s required to reach the Cozy, which is on the list of America’s Historic Inns. To them, staying in one of the inn’s 21 historic, quaint, and unique rooms and cottages, which are decorated in the style of presidents and dignitaries who have visited Camp David and/or the Cozy Country Inn, will be worth the drive. In April 2005 the Camp David Museum opened, and now you can view pictures, many never before seen by the public, of past presidents visiting Camp David. The also-famous Cozy Restaurant, which seats 150 and is the oldest restaurant in Maryland still operated by descendants of its founding family, offers both lavish buffets and an a la carte menu. The Cozy has a pub where you can get a tall, cool drink. Or, if you prefer, order from room service, which is offered from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Your free continental breakfast, which is served in the lobby during the week, is served in the restaurant on the weekend. The inn and restaurant are part of Historic Cozy Village, which offers some unique shops for you to browse.
