Description: If you’re from the Southwest, let’s face it, you’re not going to find the kind of south-of-the-border cuisine you’re used to here in Portland. But when you get a hankering for a burrito, it doesn’t matter if you’re at the North Pole—you just need a fix. In Portland Granny’s is the place to go for that fix. It’s nothing fancy, but the food is satisfying if what you want is a burrito stuffed with simple, non-funky ingredients. Granny’s serves both burritos and quesadillas, prepared just the way you want them. You’ll be asked what kind of tortilla you’d like—such as white, wheat, chili, or spinach—and whether you want black beans, pinto beans, or a mix of the two. Both the burritos and quesadillas come in a wide variety of options, such as veggie, sweet potato, spinach, chicken pesto, chicken mango, jerk chicken, and, of course, the usual chicken, beef, or chorizo. Most of the burritos start with the basic veggies and fixings. That means cheese, rice, beans, salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. Quesadilla basics include cheese, beans, fresh garlic, tomatoes, and salsa. The menu also features turkey chili, nachos, and salads. Granny’s is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
