Description: Highland Creek was one of the first top-notch public courses that came online in Charlotte during the 1990s. It set the standard for daily-fee golf with a modern, well-designed layout, manicured greens, full-fledged practice area, and upscale clubhouse. The course offers a variety of challenges, with four sets of tees measuring 5,080 to 7,000-plus yards, 72 bunkers, five lakes, and water features on 13 holes. It has one of the highest slope ratings of any area public facility at 138. Not to worry. You’ll vividly remember each hole of this par-72 course that is often considered among the best and the toughest public course in Charlotte. Located northeast of the city in the Mallard Creek area, Highland Creek is also a gigantic residential community with more than 4,000 homes stretching from Mecklenburg into Cabarrus County.
