Description: Opened in September 2005, Northlake Mall includes 150 shops and a 14-screen movie theater at I-77 and Harris Boulevard, just north of Charlotte. The 1.1-million-square-foot shopping center, just under the size of Carolina Place in Pineville, caters to residents of northern Mecklenburg County. Many stores are major ones found at other Charlotte malls, but for folks who live in this area it saves a drive into the city or across the other side of Charlotte. Anchors include Belk, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and AMC Theatres. Teens will love Abercrombie & Fitch, Guess, PacSun, Express, and Hollister Co., while soccer moms can indulge at Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor, Crabtree & Evelyn, Brighton Collectibles, Cache, Casual Corner, and Victoria’s Secret. More unique offerings include L’Occitane en Provence, which carries bath, body, and fragrance products, and Z Gallerie, a more exotic version of Pottery Barn (there’s one of those here, too). Valet parking, stroller rental, free wheelchair use, and a kids’ indoor play area also are featured at Northlake. Another nice touch is free Wi-Fi in the center court and food court.
