Description: Sponsored by the Raleigh-based Latino advocacy group El Pueblo, the event brings thousands of Hispanic residents of the Triangle together for two days of celebration, cultural exposition, and community outreach and organization. Four stages of entertainment present popular and traditional music and dance from Central and South America and the Caribbean. In fact, the entertainment aspect of the event has become so popular that organizers are working to return to the emphasis on the youth and adult soccer tournaments that gave La Fiesta its start. Crafters and food vendors round out the festival picture. The variety of Hispanic dishes offered is impressive, so if you’ve never had to choose between pupusas and empanadas, get ready for a difficult decision. Admission is $5 to the festival, $7 to the festival and soccer tournament. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.
