Description: The MOMS Clubs of Mount Pleasant and Charleston were started as chapters of the national support group for mothers who stay at home with their children or work part time. The group’s broad range of activities includes special programs for mothers, play groups for children, and get-togethers for the whole family. Recent guest speakers presented talks on subjects such as college savings plans and children’s dental care. The Mount Pleasant Dunes West (anyone living in a community with a main entrance off of SR 41) MOMS Club meets the first and third Thurs of each month at the Dunes West Golf Club (3003 Dunes West Blvd.; momsclub-mtpn@yahoo.com). The Park West group (anyone living north of SR 41) meets the third Fri of the month (momsclub-mtppw@yahoo.com). The Mount Pleasant South club is for those living south of US 17 (momsclubmp@hotmail.com). There are Moms Clubs in the Summerville and Goose Creek areas as well. The Charleston Club does not hold regular meetings, but call the number listed to learn about activities. There is an annual fee of $25. You may visit the first time for free to check it out. Children are always welcome at the meetings.
