Description: This comprehensive facility includes a big playground (complete with separate equipment and areas for different ages), a volleyball court, athletic fields (for soccer, football, and kickball), baseball fields, tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, and basketball courts. An indoor center houses night basketball courts, tumbling equipment, Ping-Pong tables, a cardio room, and more. There are also sheltered tables and grills for picnics. The department sponsors special programs, such as a summer day camp, youth dances, and a senior citizens group, and organizes events such as kite-flying and sandsculpting contests. Bring your favorite canine friend to the Bark Park on 29th Avenue behind the recreation center. The park is open from sunup to sundown; the recreation building is open all day (with the kids’ programs in the morning) Mon through Fri and afternoons on Sat and Sun.
