Description: The Waterfront Cafe sits at the foot of the lighthouse in Harbour Town and is open all day long, starting with a superb breakfast at 8 a.m. Watch the morning sun sparkle on the Calibogue Sound where you’ll view a mile-long expanse of sea from the panoramic window. Lunch starts at 11 a.m. (continuing through 2:30) and the menu is “oh, so, Southern.” Try the Low Country She Crab Soup and the Calibogue Shrimp Salad with baby shrimp tossed with fresh dill in a lemon caper crème fraiche, with coleslaw, macaroni pie, or fresh fruit. For the health-conscious, the grilled vegetable salad is outstanding. Since the restaurant sits at the boaters’ entrance to the Harbour Town Yacht Basin at Sea Pines, the Waterfront Cafe is a wonderful place to watch the yachts check in and out of the harbor. Maybe you’ll spot a celebrity! Favorites for dinner (4 to 10 p.m.) include the Carolina crab cakes and blackened grouper. The restaurant offers a three-course special that gives you a choice of grilled salmon, classic chicken Marsala, and seafood potpie. The Waterfront Cafe also has outdoor dining in an area at the base of the Harbour Town Lighthouse and overlooking the marina. Reservations are recommended for dinner. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week from mid-Feb to Oct. Call for hours Nov through Feb.
