Description: Chinese immigrants played an important role in early-day Deadwood, and this restaurant honors their contribution to local history. Your order is prepared individually from fresh ingredients and seasoned to your taste while you sip tea or a beer or wine-based cocktail from the bar. Lunch and dinner feature many standard Chinese favorites, from egg rolls and wonton soup to chop suey, chow mein, fried rice, and sweet-and-sour chicken, shrimp, or pork. However, you’ll find plenty of more complex dishes such as Szechuan beef, walnut shrimp, orange-flavored chicken, and two kinds of war ba served on sizzling platters. Daily luncheon specials offer a choice of sweet-and-sour pork or another dish. Although you’ll probably be focused on your meal, take a moment to notice the graceful Chinese lanterns and unusual circular seating arrangement. Chinatown accommodates nonsmokers as much as possible, so be sure to state your preference. The restaurant is on the second floor of Miss Kitty’s gaming hall.
