Address: 3202 West Anderson Lane

Description: The spice trade was a two-way affair, bringing spices from the countries in South Asia to Europe and importing Dutch, British, Spanish, and Portuguese customs to the region. Satay celebrates that trade with a menu that reflects Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Malaysian dishes. Dutch traders adopted the Indonesian custom of serving a variety of dishes at one course, dubbing it “rijsttafel,” or rice table. At Satay it is a great way to share a meal with several friends. The menu also features curries, both Thai and Indian-inspired. Satay is well-known not only for its diverse menu but also its food products, including a peanut sauce served with satay, which are sold in local food stores. The restaurant is in the Shoal Creek Plaza shopping center, but inside the decor is exotic and features artwork from the South China Seas region. Satay’s sauces and food products are sold in local grocery stores and online at their website. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
