Sundance Square - Tours & Attractions - Dallas, Texas

City: Dallas, TX
Category: Tours & Attractions

Description: The name is a reference to the Sundance Kid, buddy to Butch Cassidy of the infamous Hole in the Wall Gang who are said to have been visitors to the nearby area that was called Hell’s Half Acre. The handsome quarter extends south from the beautiful old Tarrant County Courthouse, re-creating a late-19th-century look. Many of the buildings in the 20-block district have been lovingly restored, and others are new structures made to fit into the overall design. Within Sundance Square, find two live theaters, a handful of museums and art galleries, a cinema complex, comedy club, plenty of shopping, dining, and nightlife, and the glorious Bass Performance Hall. Parking is free on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays. Be sure to check out the Chisholm Trail Mural at Main and Fourth Street, with a magical 3-D effect.
