Description: Named for the port city on Mexico’s west coast, this small El Paso seafood restaurant prepares fish the way that you would find it in coastal Central Mexico. Many of the popular Pacific favorites are on offer here, like fish tacos and shrimp cocktail, but the real stars here are the whole fish fillets, which are roasted and come smothered in any number of delicious toppings, like tomato and green chile salsa or fresh garlic. Also typically Mexican, when you order a plato here, it will come adorned with a scoop of yellow rice, mashed potatoes, and a small garden salad. The restaurant serves tacos and tortas, but otherwise the menu is strictly fish and shrimp. Not much can be said for the ambiance here. Like many of El Paso’s best restaurants, it is located in a corner unit of an unassuming strip mall on the Westside, with a few simple tables. Don’t come here for the atmosphere, come for the food. Puerto Vallarta Grill is open everyday except Sunday.
