Description: Ripe Eatery is one of those truly hip yet completely friendly places to eat that only comes along once in a while. The vision behind Ripe was to “create a casual yet gourmet neighborhood eatery where everyone could get a creative and flavorful meal prepared by people who are genuinely excited about being in the kitchen.” The food here is accessible, reasonably priced international cuisine—a kind of fusion between homespun delights and global flavors, making Ripe one of a kind in El Paso.The interior of Ripe is clean and cute. Mahogany tables are placed neatly around the bright dining area and overseen by colorful local paintings, a few twinkle lights and soft overhead fans. Fresh flowers decorate each table. Chalkboards are a common thread here, with the most impressive one a massive vertical board labled “What’s Cooking?” that displays the daily specials for the entire month on sticky notes stuck under it each day. The food here is upscale, but the dining arrangement is about as casual as they come. Orders are made at the counter and the food is delivered to your table, and many patrons come here for the free Wi-Fi Internet access, the drinks, desserts, and appetizers.Ripe is also set up as a market. All of the items on the menu are available for take-out, and the rest of the market offerings amount to specialty drinks, wine, desserts, and a few other items.
