Description: Don’t want to shell out money for a cab, limo, or rental car? Here are a few options for getting to and from the airport and around Houston: SuperShuttle’s blue and yellow vans provide ground transportation to and from both airports. Because it’s a shared-ride service, though, you won’t reach your destination as quickly as you would by taking a cab. That is, unless you opt for SuperShuttle’s more expensive ExecuCar service. SuperShuttle prices vary, but shared rides usually cost between $20 and $30 with an advance reservation; gratuity isn’t excluded. Discounts are available for groups and round-trip purchases. Catch a ride on SuperShuttle by going to the company’s desk in the baggage claim area or save a few dollars by making reservations in advance at (800) 258-3826 or supershuttle.com. Houston’s bus service, METRO, offers daily service from downtown to Intercontinental and vice versa via the local Route 102 bus. One-way fare costs $1.25. For route and schedule information, call (713) 635-4000 or visit ridemetro.org. Some hotels—especially those near the airport—offer complimentary shuttle service for their guests. Call ahead to find out if yours does. Hotels farther away from the airport rarely offer service to and from the airport, but they may provide transportation to attractions and restaurants within a 3-mile radius of the hotel.
