It is located on one of the city’s main streets, once lined with stately old homes and venerable old trees. The house features a formal parlor with a fireplace on the first floor, available for guest use, and three guest rooms, each with private bath, cable TV, and VCR. The house is equipped with secure wireless Internet access for guest use. The Queen Room features a queen-size, four-poster bed, while the King Room offers an extra-large, king-size, four-poster bed, as well as an antique chest-on-chest. If you would prefer more room, the Capitol Suite is available. The bathrooms feature plush towels; European linens are used on the beds. There is a two-night minimum stay during high season, and a three-night minimum stay on holiday weekends. Breakfasts are served family style and often include biscuits, quiche, crepes, and waffles served with Virginia sausage or bacon, seasonal fresh fruits, yogurts, fresh-ground coffees, and teas.Off-street parking is available, but no pets and no smoking. Children ages 10 and older are welcome.
