Clarendon: CITY HALL of the oldest surviving town in the Texas Panhandle. Originally founded along the banks of the Salt Fork of the Red River, it moved five miles south to the present location to profit from the Denver-Ft. Worth railroad.
Clarendon: CLARENDON COLLEGE, established in 1898 by Methodists, is the oldest institution of higher education in the Texas Panhandle.
