Columbia: A view of the Women's Quadrangle of the University of South Carolina. The building catching the sunlight is Wade Hampton (#119), a residence hall for first-year female students. To its right and less visible, with columns and a cupola, is Sims (#120), which is also a 1st-year gal's dorm. Picture taken from Greene Street on January 8th, 2009.
Columbia: Looking east on Gervais Street where it ends at Dearborn Road. This is at an edge of Columbia; the trees and house at the bottom of the hill are in Forest Acres. The house with the pink roof is very new, and does not yet appear in aerial photos.
Columbia: This is a portion of the newly constructed CanalSide development in Columbia, South Carolina. The two buildings lining the newly created extension of Taylor Street are designed to resemble an older style of construction in the area. The other buildings in the complex are more modern. The development is on the 23 acre site of the Central Correctional Institution, and blocks from the old prison are being used as wall and benches amongst the condominiums. Some of the granite stones can be seen in this photograph. Shot looking west from the corner of Taylor Street and Williams Street, Columbia, SC 29201 on December 31, 2008.
