This property was purchased and owned by my Father, Arthur Knoch. Due to mental issues after serving in the US Navy, he failed to pay the appropriate property taxes. Instead of contacting any of his family members or auctioning of the property in 1978, the board of supervisors, including Diane Feinstein, approved the transfer to the Parks and Recreation department for the sum of $5 (five dollars). I am one paycheck from becoming homeless. My older sister is also currently homeless. My father owned a total of five lots, all sold to the Parks and Recreation for the same sum of $5 each. Three lots currently have homes on them valued at over 1.6 million dollars. Two, including this one is a community garden. All five were to remain a community garden, but some agency or person sold the three and made a huge profit. Maybe it is time for the government to give back some of what it took, to help get my sister out of a tent?
