Adventure Sports Unlimited

Located on the central coast of California and established in 1978, Adventure Sports Unlimited (ASU) is an aquatics fun center and retail store that helps people enjoy the water with comfort and confidence. The facility houses an instruction pool along with a Jacuzzi heated to tropical temperatures. Next to the training area is a lecture room, a party pavilion, and shop space.

Lessons are provided by highly trained staff, with both private instruction and group classes offered for swimming, SCUBA diving, and kayaking. For its trainings, Adventure Sports Unlimited outfits students with the best equipment available along with "water toys" to make learning fun. Meals are provided, too, and the management likes to point out that its instructors are wonderful chefs.

In addition to lessons, Adventure Sports Unlimited arranges scuba diving and kayaking adventure trips. Destinations range from the neighboring coves of the Pacific coast to as far away as the South Pacific. One recent excursion featured lobster diving. Others are family oriented. Staff members and their students are also regular participants in the Santa Cruz Surf Kayak Festival held each March.
