Thank You God........

Sometimes we need to just stop ourselves in our busy tracks and say a huge Thank You to God.
After CPR, paddles.....and lots of fast and furious care.....my sister just survived her heart stopping for three minutes......
Yes, I got the frantic call from my niece at midnight. I didn't wake up fast enough, and then received a call from my SIL about the situation. I returned an immediate call to my niece.
She had just watched her Mom turn blue. She had just managed to catch her and get to a phone to call 911.......the ambulance was heading out. She frantically took the time to call me.
Those moments in the ambulance would be ones we could only hear of, and shake our heads...The story would come out slowly.
The shock of the night was just too much to express.
There would be a short span of denial...perhaps just a fainting spell....
But, now we know.
So I feel now that God blessed me...and God blessed her daughter. We were not ready for this. Perhaps more so...God blessed my sister. She is the one who lived.
This is not like now I will go and give him a gift....flowers....a hug.
I can't do that.
All I can do is pray, and hope he hears me.
He has always been there in our darkest hours.......and he was with us again.
I almost lost my one and only sister.
It would have happened on a day we were on the phone at least four or five times.
Unusual for us.........
It reminds me that life can't be taken for granted. I knew a deep bonding experience when my parents became old. I appreciated everyday with them.
I realize now that my Sister who was going to live "forever" I can also loose in an instant.
So this is to Thank God for giving me a chance to be better, to do more...to appreciate and love those who are near and dear to me.

Wow, Summering. I'm so happy that you still have your sister. My brother died at age 45 leaving 5 children. It was a call like you received but, not quite the same. I do miss him. Take care dear.Posted 01-21-2010 at 03:29 PM by Tankarma
