Up on Mountain, thoughts of Past and Future.

Posted 07-18-2008 at 05:47 AM by Summering

Ah, Such a beautiful day in the Poconos.
Living on the crest of a mountain is just a joy........I might add except when the winter snow flakes fly, or ice forms on the drive from one of those blustery storms.
Way up here, there is a great view all around. Fields, farms, mountain ranges...everything nice and green.

I started a new album of old pictures and things past.........because as we move forward.......all those things become endearing to our hearts.

Many on here have lost a family member or good friend.........How better to celebrate their lives then to make their pictures stand out bold, and beautiful, right here on CD online.
Sometimes its never easy at all to look back.....or to even think back.
But.........your history makes you who you are......what you feel, and how you love. Remembering is good, moving forward is rewarding too.

Just recently a thread was locked about Random Acts of Kindness......I was so surprised. I was just about to post.....and saw the little lock.
A lock on "Kindness"..........hummm.....
Some felt to walk away from someone in need was good. Make them progress on their own, stand up and get going.....I guess. Others, like me.......could never pass someone up in need. Hoping it is a temporary need, and that I would just be their " helper" for the day..........
There was two ways of thinking.......both.........quite interesting in their points. Shoulda' stayed on I think. ( am I allowed to say that )

So the mountain lacks a breeze today, and the water looks good......
A day to spend in the pool, before the all too soon arrival.......of .......those winter storms.

Summering, such a beautiful description of your home in the Poconos..Like you, I caoul never be "selfish enough" to pass up siomeone in need..Sometimes the need is only for one of those random acts of kindness of a sincere smile, or holding a door open..

    Thank you Blue!........
We had a good solid discusion going on the good and bad (?) points of helping someone in an act of kindness.
Although I cringed at the thought of some of the postings..........I tried to imagine "why" they would pass someone by. To them, it was so the person would learn to not depend on others, to get with it ,( I suspose) and move forward on their own.
To me........That would be impossible. To pass by this person..........
Its like if a stray dog even showed up on my doorstep. Could I refuse this animal food and shelter, until it found its way?.... I know I would help it find a home, and feed it also.
I know I would have to do even more for my fellowman.
Life is difficult at times, but there is some beauty in its ups and downs........
We appreciate the "Ups" more after a few downers, now don't we?

Your one of those people who make the Pocono's such a grand place to live, Summering. It's good to know that you wouldn't pass me by, if I needed your help. You can count on me in the same way!

    Thank you Pocono........
Life is too short not to help someone in need........
Even if it means some might take it all wrong.
But..........thats how it is........and I'll be fine with it.
