They were in it together!

Posted 07-10-2013 at 01:29 PM by Fortoggie

One little town, they were all in it at the same time. One dark night and all were sleeping. Seven miles away in a slightly elevated spot a train engineer took a coffee break and maybe a pee break too.
While he drank coffee and the citizens of Lac-Megantic were in the deep sleep part of the night, the train somehow broke away, quietly slipping down the rails, at first just one mile per hour, then the weight of the oil tankers took over and accelerated the speed until it rushed into Lac-Megantic and while the town slept on; it jumped the rails, spilled oil, caught fire, exploded and blew away much of the town. At this point, it is still not clear how many lost their lives and everybody lost their past and will now have to deal with a new future.
They were all in it together when all hell broke loose and I am sure that we will hear of many heroic efforts and deeds. But my guess is that the survivors will not come out of the tragedy in anything like an equal way.
Can we agree that no one in the town was at fault? Yet some will come out of this richer, some poorer and some will never be the same mentally or spiritually.
Having your home blow up in the middle of the night, doesn't fit into anyone's theology, nor does it fit into anyone's politics. We always want someone or something to blame. Will it be the railroad? The engineer? Will the engineer have to move out of the area? Will the railroad be forced into bankruptcy trying to pay off the damages?
Right now we have a lot of people all across the U.S., that has had their faith shaken because of the tornados, the floods and the fires and somewhat like the people caught under the Dome, they are close to going bezerk. Who to blame? Is it Obama's fault? Maybe it's the gay's? Some think that is our war like nature that brings down the wrath of God. Many people think, that it's just that we have so many people on planet earth, that no matter where disaster strikes, lots of people will be affected. What's your take on this?

Very good post. I haven't been on this site for a little while. Reading your post made me think about everything that has been going on in the USA over the past two years. We can take it further, but I believe two years should cover the point. Who is to blame for what occurred? Is it directly someone's fault? I don't think so. I believe that certain things are "out of our hands" and if someone could control it, it may have been too much for the person to handle alone. It is human nature to try to place the blame on "something" or on "someone" because the unknown is a lot more scarier.
As the public we are not entirely made aware of the things that "really" happen in our country. The media gets ahold of anything claims it was "leaked" then we have sensationalism at its best when we turn on the 6 o'clock news. But, stories like this one get pushed aside because the "Zimmerman case" is a lot more important. It didn't cause enough sensationalism therefore it will not be given too much attention by anyone including Obama and the media. It kind of irritates me when I hear stories of people who have survived the worst of the worst and their story is aired on television, but it is given a quick 10 seconds. Why? Because sadness doesn't sell, but anger does. New Orleans is possibly one of the biggest examples of people being treated unfairly and undignifably.. If I say they were being treated like animals I'd be giving the government a little bit of credit. Not even animals are treated the way they were in this country.
Other examples the "the Boston Marathon massacre" , Christopher Dorner, Mr. "Whistleblower himself" Edward snowmen. We may not see things the way they truly are when the media adds children and women to their stories and make the public angry against a particular country.. Really? Isn't the USA doing worst to people in other countries? That they don't report on the news. We have heroes that really fight for this country and others that take advantage of their rights and violate the rights of others.. I am not angry. I am sickened by everything that is happening in our country and we allow the government to violate our rights because they are trying to "protect us"?
    Great post.

Wow great post!! Many people will never hear of the sad events in the little town Lac-Megantic. Why, because social media is controlled by the government. If you want me to go deeper, it is controlled by the illuminate. Therefor all media we see is filtered by them. We see what they want us to see. So all the people that are mysteriously killed by a freak accident die with no notice or hardly any notice.

Remember The school shooting in CT. When that incident happened I read about it from many sites. I came across a few videos that showed three shooters in the beginning. So I looked into it more and found other articles coinciding with that belief. I can no longer find those videos or information. Then I looked into the family of the accused dead shooter. The boy was a misfit in his highly prestige family. I believe it was a set up. The reason why, I do not know. But the events that happened that day did not stay in the media long. They were forgotten about. Hundreds of kids will never be the same!

Anger sells. Casey Anthony's case went world wide. I wonder what freak accident occurred at the time of that case, that many people will never hear of. I will look into that. Will have a blog about that in a couple of days. While the world focused on the Zimmerman case hundreds deaths went unnoticed!!

Overall I believe there is more then what we see in many incidents. Placing blame isn't going to solve anything. That is just what they want you to do. It keeps all the little people blinded to what is really going on in the US.
