While we slept

Posted 08-31-2015 at 05:46 PM by Fortoggie

WHILE WE SLEPT; Tens of thousands of displaced people have been making their way through the night out of the mid east and into all parts of Europe, trying to find a place of refuge , a place where they can find water, food, shelter and freedom from bombs and weapons of destruction. These are business people, lawyers, doctors and educators and people of every rank and file of society. They are old and young, rich and poor, healthy and unhealthy. Their life has been disrupted and going en masse as they are they are disrupting the places where they are going. This will change the labor market, schools and institutions of all kinds will be overwhelmed. The economies of nations will be changed and the seeds of revolution now sown will in time come to fruition. Yet this earth shaking, world changing migration is not on the lips nor on the mind of our neighbors. Chances are you have heard more about Donald Trump's hair-do and his attitude toward women than you have about our onrushing future.
