Friday ~~ October 31, 2014 ~~ It is All Hallows Eve otherwise known as Halloween....

Posted 10-31-2014 at 07:39 AM by CSD610

What are you doing this All Hallows Eve, if you do anything? We are supposed to be with our Grandsons walking in a parade but we shall see.

I don't feel very well so far today so Mr. CSD may go and I may stay home. It is so cold and windy already and with my health being so unpredictable as it is I am not sure I want to take a chance walking for a couple hours in the cold. It is also supposed to rain this evening as well so I may just sit this one out.

Otherwise not much going on here in our home.
I am about 2/3 done with the quilting part of the quilt and honestly I wish I was further along but it should be done by the later tonight if I don't travel or tomorrow.

It seems that our season has gone from Fall into Winter overnight. The leaves have almost all fallen off of the trees, it is 8:19 AM and 30 degrees and I am actually freezing and turned on the heat at 4:00 AM. I haven't been cold in about 5 years so I think the 5 year long phase of menopause is finally over, thank goodness. I am also sure that the snow could start falling at any moment.

The trash collectors have already stopped this morning and I had a full can for them to take this time. Usually it is one bag and I don't always remember to put the can out to the road. I got most of the trash put in the can on Wednesday evening and Mr. CSD put the rest of the trash in the can last night and moved it to the road.

Trash, laundry, dishes and all the house chores are some of the things that are mundane chores that continue on a daily basis. This of course is only true if you take out your trash, wash, dry fold and put away your laundry, wash your dishes and keep the house tidy on a daily basis.

Do you think about anything when you are getting the daily chores completed? Does your mind wander where it wants while you are running the sweeper or mopping the floor. How about when you are doing dishes? What else is there to do when you are washing dishes? There really is not much else to do honestly.
You run the dish water (if you don't have a dishwasher) then you take your sponge or dish rag and you wash the dishes. After they are washed you rinse the dish soap off of the dishes, then you put them in the dish drainer to air dry. I should say we put the dishes in the dish drainer so they can air dry. Some people do dry their dishes with a towel and put them away.

I don't really think about much while I am doing daily chores, I just focus on the particular task at hand and get it done then move on to the next task on the list and yes I do make a list.
It may be the same list I had the day before and will be the same list I have the next day but I do make a list.

I usually have to have a list made or I get very little accomplished. I tend to have a short attention span at times and if something is not on a list it will not get done. On the other side of the list coin is if I don't have a list to follow nothing will get done completely. I will start something then notice the floor needs to have the dust mop run over it, then while I'm doing that I'll notice the stove top needs to be washed off. Then while I am running the sweeper I'll find a couple glasses or dishes that need to be washed, then I'll start the dishes and run all hot water and let them soak for a bit and the water cool before I wash dishes.
Then I'll walk into the bathroom to put something away and notice the bed needs made and the never ending never getting anything completed carousel continues to go around and I am still riding the prettiest pony.

Since we are supposed to travel today I will have a list of things to pack as well, again because if I don't I will not get much packed and I will not get everything packed that we will need for our trip. It may sound silly to some that I have to have a list but the list is a way to keep me organized and focused on the task at hand and helps cut down the amount of distraction time that I waste.

If you don't use a list you should try it a few times and see if it makes a difference for you.

Anyway, it is time for me to close these written words for today since I have to get to making my list and decide if I am going to pack for both of us or for Mr. CSD alone.

A few parting thoughts to ponder if you choose to.

Do you make a list for groceries and chores?
Do you follow the list for groceries exactly?
Do you have a small appliance that is intended for one use but you use it for something else as well?
Do you like to write with purple ink?
Do you have any extra stamps in your home anywhere?
Do you always fix two pieces of toast or do you fix one?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.
