Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Face The Case: A Very Important Guest

Can you imagine if your favorite blogger decided to do a Sunday morning talk show on TV? Well, I've kind of wondered that myself for some time now, so why not try to do a different version of it (I'd say very different) right here on Case's Column for the masses to lactate on for the time you read it? You can say it's time for it now.

What would it look like? Well, since we don't have a means of transmitting TV signals here on City-Data, where it's great to be alive, I'll just resort to doing a transcript similar to what you might see on Rush Limbaugh's radio show website. Especially since I actually (well, sorta) got a network to bite on my new idea, I thought I'd share it with you.

It could look like this:

ANNOUNCER: Welcome to Face The Case, the weekly newsmagazine presenting the people, places, and happenings of our times. And now, from our Dallas studios, here is case44.

CASE: Good morning. On today's show, this week's guest is a man whom you know is always one of our newsmakers. We have President Barack Obama of the United States on my program this day. Mr. President, good morning to you.

OBAMA: Good morning. How are you?

CASE: Doing great today. I want to first ask you, regarding the Affordable Care Act, did you expect this law to show signs of unraveling, given United Healthcare's possible withdrawal from ObamaCare?

OBAMA: Well, Case, they'll just have second thoughts about pulling out when they see that my plan is actually a good plan for all Americans. After all, it's the insurance companies that want to raise your annual rates and more people are hooking into the Affordable Care Act than ever before. The signups speak for themselves.

CASE: But what about those who lost their plans in the last few years due to numerous cancellations?

OBAMA: Nobody's lost anything. They are looking for a better health plan and they're just getting screwed by all these companies claiming to have better systems than my administration has put together. Then again, Americans can just take a pill and everything will be fine.

CASE: Mr President, switching gears now, you mourned last week for the victims in Paris who were killed in those terror attacks, but in 2012, you couldn't mourn the loss of four innocent Americans at the consulate in Benghazi that got terrorized.

OBAMA: That was mainly the work of a YouTube video.

CASE: Not from what we've found, Mr President, and it really did happen. Four Americans. Dead. And where were you in the hours after this took place?

OBAMA: My advisors were taking care of investigating this, along with Secretary of State Clinton.

CASE: But didn't you have a golf game or a re-election fundraiser to go to the next day?

OBAMA: Let me be clear. There was no bombing in Benghazi and we've gone after the culprit who released the YouTube, and we have assured appropriate action for it. And guess what? In November, I got re-elected. Much ado, really, about nothing.

CASE: Barry, have you ever....

OBAMA: Mr President.

CASE: Mr President, have you ever looked at the Syrian refugee --- shall we say, infusion? --- onto American soil as a means to gain a greater political advantage?

OBAMA: America has always been about creating new opportunities for everyone, and politics shouldn't have anything to do with it. Syrians are no exception, and for us to be inclusive, we must be able to include them.

CASE: But aren't you concerned at all about the backgrounds of these refugees, their histories, their reputations? Aren't you concerned about terrorism amongst this group?

OBAMA: Nothing's gonna happen, Case. The Republicans are always crying wolf about Muslims, Islamists, and terrorism. They're too worried about things over there when these refugees are looking for a means of escape from all that. And we have that refuge here.

CASE: So you don't think ISIS is going to recruit any of these savages -- er, refugees -- for the purpose of destroying others?

OBAMA: I have said it recently, and I'll say it again: ISIL is contained. They are not a threat to Americans.

CASE: Mr President, if that's what is, then what group was it that terrorized Paris last week?

OBAMA: You know, maybe I should just get going. I have other commitments.

CASE: But, Mr President, what about Michelle, Malia, and Sasha? Aren't you concerned about their well being?

OBAMA: Thanks for having me on today.

CASE: All right, folks, that's President Barack Obama on the state of affairs here in the United States. I see we've had so many questions here, but it looks that hardly anything's been answered here on the program today.

Next week, I'll have presidential hopeful and Texas senator Ted Cruz on the show to discuss his run for the presidency. Maybe we'll get some answers from him next Sunday.............on Face The Case!

ANNOUNCER: You've been watching Face The Case, the weekly program featuring newsmakers and happenings of our times. Portions of this program were prerecorded. Join us at this same time next Sunday for Face The Case, over most of these stations.

    LOL.

At least, you've got the guts to take him on.

I am still disgusted with members of the Republican Party for not standing up for what is right and impeaching Obama when they had the chance. It's starting to look grim for 2016 unless serious action is taken to stop this refugee influx.

On the bright side, Obamacare will likely have a complete collapse, but a lot of cleanup lies ahead.
