Aleppo Who?

Posted 12-17-2016 at 03:59 PM by Blondebaerde

Aleppo, Syria has not necessarily been a foreign policy failure of our departing President. Judging from his final press briefing, he seems to imply it was via blaming Russia and Iran for aiding Syria's victory over the terrorists and subsequent liberation. Hmm. While I agree with him on little else, the Administration tipped their hand as to the thinking recently when one remarked, "to solve it we'd have needed to occupy the country."

Oh, we're aligned there: I don't think so.

That didn't work out terribly well in Iraq, until we wisely brought sufficient force to bear on the barbarians during the so-called "Surge" c. 2007 under the patriot General Petraeus, a man I firmly hope has a place in the incoming Trump Administration. Politically, occupations seldom work out for the occupier long-term. The Big Brains in Washington determined, correctly, that end of the day the benefits of annihilating the Assad government and taking over Syria outweighed the costs in blood and treasure.

...Which takes us to today. And...so what? The Assad government, bolstered by Russian and Iranian forces, has annihilated the terrorists in Aleppo, barrel-bombing those who aid and abet them in the process. Why this receives wall-to-wall coverage in the U.S. and Britain is a reason journalists are never to be trusted. Let's be crystal clear: bombing terrorists flat is a good thing. Military solutions are often successful.

There being few if any independent journalists on the ground during recent events, all media reports provided by the terrorists and their sympathizers are to be viewed as deeply suspect. The U.S. providing weapons and supplies to terrorists and ISIS doesn't make sense, something else we've stopped doing at-least. The Assad government can deal with the mop-up at their own convenience: not our geopolitical concern. Turkey should promptly mass troops along the border and drop a half million land mines along the way, let Syria deal with their own problems.

I'm really not interested in further news about bombing terrorists and so-called "refugees" that aren't the problem of the United States and Britain. Here's to hoping our incoming President-elect, Donald Trump, reaches geopolitical consensus (if not true understanding) with the Russians on that and other matters. And, fortifies our borders against swarming invaders via whatever means necessary. Lastly, that he and his cabinet radically reform so-called "immigration" of hostile aliens of an equally hostile so-called "religion" (really, fanatical followers of a twisted, Satan-worshipping idolatry).

Time to wise up, at long last, America.

To the extent I care, "well done," Russia Syria and Iran for firebombing terrorists and enemies of civilization. Keep up the good work, I guess. Rest assured you don't have the attention of John Q. Public in the U.S. at-least.
