Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

America Is Continuing Its Comeback, But Much More Needs To Be Done

Posted 06-25-2018 at 09:10 AM by case44

As recently as two years ago, the average American wondered if there'd be any hope left in our nation. We were mired in economic, social, moral, and political crises left and right. Politicians in general (and not just those on the left) were ruining this country and not serving the people who voted for them. And we had, perhaps, the absolute worst presidential administration that this writer had ever seen. Disturbing images were all over our television screens of the corruption, the misfeasance, malfeasance, and misguidedness of our so-called leaders. Just count the scandals if you don't believe.

But We, The People did not have to give up and throw it all away. Conservatives had gotten too complacent and we've seen that we needed a wake-up call. America's best days did not have to be behind us.

An escalator ride from an certain American individual, as fate would have it, had certainly changed it.

Today, our U.S. government is in a state of change the likes of nothing we've seen before. Americans duly elected one Donald John Trump to the Republican nomination and eventual forty-fifth presidential administration. Since that time, we've seen a civilian do what no politician had done, and that's fulfill his promises to the American people. As a matter of fact, sixty-five percent of President Trump's promises have been fulfilled, and, amazingly, much of it without the help of a stubborn Congress. We're seeing good fruit now. People are going back to work. Businesses that have left America are coming back in. Unemployment is way down overall, but especially for African-Americans, Hispanics, and women. Commerce is moving at a greater pace. Regulations have been cut. Taxes have been cut nationwide. Best of all, consumer confidence is the highest it's been in decades.

That said, America is making significant progress, but a lot of work still needs to be done, and a lot of it, really, comes down to individuals. Yes, government can't do everything for us, contrary to what Trump's predecessor would have and want us to believe. It's up to us as citizens of this country. Politically, we are still bitterly divided among ideals and issues. The average American citizen would rather we be civil, live life to the fullest, have a safe environment, work hard, and have a better life. America was created to be exceptional, and that is what we always should be. We don't need to be a third-world country supporting an enslaving one-world government like Barack Obama wanted this country to have. Our nation was created for freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Prior to Trump's election was the worst eight-year run in American history, where so many people chose to become brainwashed into a different way of thinking. Obama, in his infamous effort to fundamentally transform America, had fundamentally ruined it. People were fighting about petty things. Police officers became disrespected in many cities. Government had gotten more hostile towards its own people. Discrimination was the order of the day by the liberal left against those whom they disagree with. Sadly, that's where some of the clean-up is needed today, with the biggest example being White House press secretary Sarah Sanders being asked to leave a Virginia restaurant by a crazed left-wing owner. It's that kind of liberal hatred and closed-mindedness that has prompted a conservative resurgence in these great United States.

President Trump is winning on all fronts, but he needs our help. It's taken a civilian, not a politician, to get things back in the right course in our nation. And Trump is, by far, the most accomplished president to ever grace our Oval Office, as he has been vigorously successful in business, but he still needs help from the American people. In November, we'll have an opportunity to add more desperately-needed conservative seats to the House and Senate (especially the latter). Executive orders need to become laws passed by the Senate. And the entertainment world, toilet that it's been from a political standpoint, might be experiencing a whirlwind of change. Refreshing news coming from Kanye West, in that he's had a change of heart in recent months after flip-flopping back and forth, is convincing the nation that some celebrities may be coming to their senses. No, not all of them. Not yet, anyway. Remember when comedian Rob Schneider denounced Democrats and subsequently decided to switch to the Republican Party a few years back? I applauded that move then. Saturday Night Live is just not watchable anymore. I believe it's only a matter of time before you and I see a major conservative resurgence in our land. Some of that is taking place now, but it may well be just the beginning. It's a positive harbinger. Pray for changes in our nation's media, now at an all-time low in our country's history in regards to bias, bigotry, and one-sidedness in their coverage of the news. Right now, except for Fox and One America News, much of our media is corrupt and in dire disarray.

Still, you have to look at the good things going on. America is turning the corner. We have still got a ways to go. A long way. But any change at all is better than no change.

Conservatives, be strong. We can overcome the hate wave from Maxine Waters, Robert DeNiro, Peter Fonda, Stephanie Wilkinson, and the rest of the left. They should be motivating you to stand up for America.

    Go Trump! MAGA.

Someone needs to call the Secret Service on both of them before something bad really happens.

    Compassion. Yeah, right....
