In memory of our sweet Allie...the golden beagle girl from Tennessee.

Sweet girl, in response to the question you asked with your eyes, "yes, you were always cute enough for us".... your eyes could melt thru any strangeness and find the place where love resides. For a girl with only three legs and far far from your Pickett County home......you sure found your way into our family's heart.

I will always remember the day the man on the truck handed you down to me after about 40 other doggies had found their forever homes....and he said, "you are getting an awesome dog, we all fell in love with her"
I couldn't believe how beautiful you were.....and how matter of fact and non judgemental you were....you just wanted the trip to be finished and to get to your new home. You never disappointed us. You were always a golden presence in our home.....and you never let on that you were anything but thrilled to be part of our family.

I have memories of your determined digging to get under the chain link fence that enclosed an acre of land....for a little pup with only one front leg....digging in the flinty and stony ground of Maine was a challenge.....but you were determined. I remember you chasing wild turkeys and stealthily hunting voles beneath the deep snow in the back yard, leaping like a fox to land head first into the drifts, for you "would have those voles out of hiding"......(you never caught one but you did get one to leap out and scurry away across the crusted snow. You tried but were too heavy to follow, but forever the optimist you continued the hunt...after every snowfall.

I know the last couple of years have been hard for you....not able to join your brother and sister for evening walks, and you have been tired and slow and it has sometimes been painful to get around. That is all over now! In my minds eye you are smiling up and asking Saint Peter....."Am I cute enough for you?"

Go well Allie, it has been a joy sharing life with you. You have always been cuter than we could ever deserve.

Love from both your Daddies and big sister McKenzie and brother Doraemon.

That was beautiful, Elston. I'm sorry for your loss but I agree with you that she's smiling and happy in her new realm. All nine of my dogs throughout my life are now all together and I have faith I will see them again when it's my time to move on. One of them was a tripod named Piper; only in her later years did the lack of one of her back legs start to slow her down.

I sent a prayer up to St. Francis & the heavens and asked that Piper and Allie meet, if they haven't already. It sounds like Allie had a wonderful life and was part of a very special pack. Be well.
