My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

The U.S. is done for!

I do not mean to be all doom and gloom but I do think it's important to be realistic and to make decisions about our future based on reality...not false hope.

Furthermore things are doom and gloom only if one is focused on this life as being all the life there is to be had.

If, as a Christian, a person truly and honestly and I mean really is focused on the next life as that life that they want to be living...then no matter how bad things get here...their eyes are on the next life. Not this one.

Hair falling out? Are you becoming bald?

If your focus is on this life...yeah big deal! For sure. You will lose out big time on remaining the handsome man you so want to be.

But...if your focus is on the next life, so what! I can invest in eternity and live for eternity with or without a head of hair. What difference will it make!

House goes up in flames? If living for this life...utterly depressing. Perhaps even an inducement to comitt suicide.

But...if living for eternity...so what?! You can't take it with you anyway. It's all God's and if He choses to allow the house He entrusted me with to burn to the ground...so what? My heart is set on the mansion I will have in heaven!

See what I mean?

World falling apart? The U.S. sinking and sinking and sinking fast?

Heart on this life...for sure...it's a big deal. Heart on the next life? Well...yeah, the world is falling apart and yeah the U.S. is done for...but as sad as that is, my eyes are on the next life. I look forward to eternal life. That's where my eyes are. That's my desire.

I am just passing through in this life.

As a Christian I can face the truth, that the world and the U.S. are falling apart, and not try and hide my head in the proverbial sand repeating over and over again to myself that "things are going to get better", "things are going to get better", "things are going to get better".

Truth is they are not going to get better. Plain and simple.

Man has an incurable sickness in his soul called sin. Only faith in God can give a person strength of character to live righteously in this present perverted age.

Most people in this world will not avail themselves of His grace and help and will thus continue to abuse their fellow man.

All the man-centered solutions to the world's problems simply won't work for no such solution deals with the core of man's problem which is sin.

As if the bailouts weren't bad enough in terms of increasing U.S. debt and bankrupting this country...Congress is about to pass the potentially single biggest tax increase in the history of the U.S.!!!

All in the name of and under the guise of global "warming".

The Cap and Tax Fiction - WSJ.com

The U.S. is done for folks. The door has been shut on any rescue and the key has been thrown away. We are headed to becoming a banana republic. So heavily into debt that none of us living will live to see the day that the U.S. gets out of being in a debtor position. The dollar will continue to slide and we as Americans will all suffer.

And there is little any of us can do to stop the insanity of spending more and more money, while being broke, to try and get out of our problems. Congress has lost virtually all restraint with respect to spending our money.

And now the potentially biggest tax increase in our history is about to be passed based on the questionable science of global "warming" being caused by man.

They are spending money like never before in history! While not even having any to spend. The money they spent on the bailouts was mostly paper money. Money that is created out of thin air because...well...because Congress needs more "money". The money to pay for the cap and trade program will come out of the pockets of Americans in any future any of us have.

As I said...the U.S. is done for. The writing is on the wall and visible to any person who has any inkling of what it means to continue to spend money you don't have.

We are growing more and more to become a nation of slaves to a government that needs ever increasing amounts of money to feed it's feeding frenzy for big projects and big government solutions to problems that plague us.

Individual states are also running out of money and they too are passing tax increases here and there. Trying all they can to wiggle every last little dollar out of hard working Americans.

Unprecedented number of states lack budgets with week left - Jun. 24, 2009

Like I said the U.S. is done for. That's reality in my book. Not doom and gloom. Just reality.

No amount of positive or hopefull thinking will bring it back.

Hopefully my fellow American Christians will come to grips with the fact that we are not to invest ourselves in this life but in the next. That we will start living like we really mean what many of us, up till now, have only given lip service to.

The world is merely going through birth pains, the woman is pregnant and she is going to birth out a generation who is going to rise up to the task, that the Father has in store for all of his children. Never loose hope. Our God is so good.

There is no hope that I consider false. The world is in a lot of trouble now, but I intend to live my life to the fullest in any way I can every day until I pass to the next level.
If some people prefer to get sucked into the mire of gloom and doom, that is absolutely their right but I just don't understand why anyone would want to do that.

I haven't lost hope by the way. Rather my hope has been more purely centered on the next life as opposed to this one. A good place to be I think.

To the extent that I have lost hope in this life to that extent I am more at liberty to live for the next one.

    Don't forget Carlos,
If you don't fulfill your purpose in this life, you may not make it to the next one. Jesus is not a one way free ticket to heaven no matter how you rationalize it..
    Just one person's opinion

    Hi yukiko,

Hmm...never heard of salvation by purpose.

Not sure that's...well...biblical yukiko. I mean if one is inclined to believe what the Bible says.

As far as Jesus being a free ticket to heaven...that's definitely more biblical but that free ticket costs everything. Like when a person rushes out of their home about to be engulfed in the flames of a massive California fire...a person who wants to be a Christian must give it all up to get out of the coming fire.

They must die to self, take up their cross, give up all attachment to wordly possession (which does not mean that we no longer have any), and otherwise turn their life over to the God they have come to trust through Jesus Christ.

Becoming a Christian, a true Christian and not just another of the multitudes who call themselves by that name, ain't cheap. It will cost everything we have and hope to be. All of us for all of Him.

So yeah...Jesus Christ does present us with a one-way free ticket to heaven. But that free is not free as in cheap. It's the most costly ticket there is both in the price He paid to secure that ticket for us and the price we must pay in turn to receive that ticket and get on that train bound for heaven.

    Just saying....
