Now that your unpacked and got to test drive the area for a bit, encountered some locals and yokels, and hopefully some actual people that moved to the area from your home town or state its time to list the likes you have of your new or semi-new, or heck if the area is your native home than by all means and ways list what you like! Y'all got it? Well here goes!

Weather! You like or not!
Year round flowers!
Long springs!
Longer Autumns!
Shorts year round! For the hearty ones that is.
Variety of sub divisions to chose from!
Snow is a neat event versus a ho-hum not again event!
No rust on older cars! Amazing if your from the Northeast!
Can fish year round without cutting holes in the water (ice) for us North Easterners!
Pretty country side is usually only 5 minutes or less from where you live anywhere in the triangle.
People R People. No matter what they say!
Day trip to Mountains!
Day trip to Ocean!
And in a lot cases no trip at all to the many lakes, ponds, river, and streams that spot the area!
Good food can be had by all and more is always welcome irregardless if they are called viddles or pickins!
Out away from the city lights the sky at night explodes with the many stars that fill the emptiness of space with the occasional flying star to catch a dream or two on!
Groceries can be cheaper but we all have to eat!

Sure it takes time to get use to this place, remember the place you came from was called home and that is never a easy place to replace! But give it time, explore the area and get involved and this place too will be your new home not only in name but in feeling!

May the triangle, RDU, RTP, Crossroads, the Quay, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Apex, Raleigh, Durham, Zebulon, Oxford, Mossisville, Franklinton, Youngsville, Chapel Hill, Henderson, ...seems like I am forgetting somewhere....????......Oh yea! and Cary, be with you!

Oh Tarheels! I forgot to number the above as I did say I would count thy ways!

Wake Forest, NC. located in Wake County NC. Some call it Wake's Forest of the Triangle....Ok maybe that's just me. But if you come from the North East, Wake Forest seems to fit. It has some rolling hills and many farming areas.

It has a small town feel but close to Raleigh, you could be down town Raleigh, depending on time of day in about 15 to 30 minutes. You can be at the Virginia border in less than an hour.

It has old Historical homes and some new subdivisions. It certainly worth a look see if your looking and seeing the area. It has transplants from New Jersey, New York, and many other NE State and Mid West and California and....well you get the idea people from all over this great country now calls Wake Forest home!

C'mon down, over, left, or right and check it out you may just like what you see. :D

Monday April 13, 2015 and its a beautiful sunny day outside, temp in the low 70's. Picture perfect. Spring is in full gear. Trees are blossoming in some cases and in other already have their leaves on them. Got to put my Basil and tomato plants in this weekend.

Could of nights this weekend kicked back and lite the bonfires up. Burned up some old trash and some of the old Pine Tree I lose this winter. It burned perfectly. The bright yellow flames danced above the blue flame near the wood core. Beneath the wood the red hot coals were burning brightly. As the wood burned down the hours went by like minutes. Sitting in front of that fire and looking out into the woods and up in the the expanse of the night sky I could not help but think how lucky we are. Lucky to know we are but a drop of water into the ocean of our world. Lucky to know I had an ample supply of wood left on the pile to keep the fire burning brightly for days upon days. To sit and ponder the world around us.

to gaze into the fire and up into the nights sky and to sincerely thank the one above who makes this all possible. Without him we are of this world and only know this world. With him we are of this world but look forward to ever lasting life which is for ever and ever and ever. We look forward to each day and each experience we have in this world to make other peoples lives better and filled with the spirit from above. It simply means taking the time to say thank you to the one above and asking for his help in getting through the day and what you can do next to help your fellow man.

For all the negative news reports and things we see each day we must take time in quiet prayer and reflection on how we can make ourselves and those around us better. That will be some of the best time you will ever spend....just relaxing and listening to the one from above speak to you. He wants to hear from you.....today is a perfect weather day so make it a perfect reflection day. Open your eyes and your heart.......he is listening.

Tuesday May 5, 2015 and its a beautiful day out there. WOW! It is so great driving into work in the mornings now as the sun is just starting to come up over the eastern horizon. Passing by the lake and seeing a boat or two heading out to the spots with the big ones. The water is like glass shattering from the boats cutting through it as the waves ripple their way to the shoreline. Spectacular!

What a beautiful earth we live on. Created by the one above for our use, our food, our water, our existence. WOW! Just a perfect day to take that stroll outside and experience spring in the air! The flowers busting with eye popping colors. Birds of all sort chirping and singing praises for the new day. WOW!

If I printed WOW several times I am guilty as charged. Thanks to the one above who created it, watches over it, and renews it each spring. With the one above in your life the days shine just a little brighter for you. The love he has for us is immeasurable and the forgiveness he allots us has not bounds, it is as he is without end. Simply put WOW!

Happy Tuesday and before this day ends be thankful and have a ever present <SMILE> to loves ones and especially strangers. It maybe the only <SMILE> someone sees today.

Thursday June 18, 2015 and its a sunny hot. sticky, warm almost summers day...temperature to top out at 101. That is as the song goes, Hot, Hot, Hot! Growing up in Pennsylvania as a kid we rarely had summers days hit these temperatures. We had no A/C and hardly used fans. But we survived.

Today would of been the first full week of summer recess. These were the days we dreamed about all year in school. Staying home resting, waking up when we wanted to, heading out for fun, swimming, playing baseball, riding bikes, and just about anything we wanted to do. Well this was also the week reality set in and we were woken up to have breakfast, chores were handed out, and the friends, bikes, baseball, and other fun stuff had to wait.

I can also head my dad coming into my room and saying, "Time to get up its fishing time". Want to get out there as the sun comes up......I would think and knew better not to say, "let it come up, I'm good." Oh those days of summer. The car would already be packed. I had a cup of hot tea that was made for me and some toast. Dad chomping at the bit to get in the car and going to the lake.. Mom already had our lunched made the night before, all Dad had to do was take them out of the Frig. Dad always brought a thermos or coffee when it was cold or water when it was hot. There was not the plastic water bottles that were in the small 16.9 mL size. The only plastic water bottle back than was a jug that was used in the water dispensing machine at businesses. Most of those were glass now that I think of it.

Our ride to the lake was about 25 minutes. We parked seemingly miles from Dad favorite fishing spot. Never had any pictures of the fishing spot until recently I came across a picture from above on Google Image. We fished at a man made dam and on its shoes it had large boulders that we would have to walk over and around to get to Dad spot. His spot was about half way up one side of the lake on a large flat rock that projected out over the water. This was the spot. This is the spot we would be at for the next 6 or so hours. I seen him catch and miss some large fish here. I had my share as well but as a kid all fish looked bigger then they really were. Dad loved to fish. To this day I cannot pass a body of water and say to myself Dad would of loved this place.

It only fitting to remember Dad and fishing this week, after all Father's Day is Sunday. For those that still have a living Dad please make sure you say Thank you for all they did for you. If you have not called you Dad in awhile....do it this weekend! Being a Dad and Grandfather I know what it means to me.

So yes its hot outside here, yes I don't get a summers recess from school anymore, yes I still on occasion fish, but getting up on a summers day before the sun rises and heading to a lake with Dad was just priceless.......Thanks Dad!

Monday July 13, 2015 and it started out wet and lot of lightning and thunder. Mostly cloudy now and highs in the upper 80's with more showers on the way.Typical summers day in the south. Not to different than a summers day up north. I remember the summers days like this. Dad would be on the fence of going fishing or not. We typically went but went closer to our home. The lake we use to camp at would be the choice. It had a dock to fish off of and a pavilion to get under in case it rained. We always had our rain gear in our nap-sacks as I did say it was up north!

It was only about a 15 minute drive from our home to the lake so in less than a half hour we had our lines in the water waiting for the big one.

One time I remember going there on one of this rain and no rain days. Dad decided to try our luck on the other side of the lake. The walk was about a mile on a tree covered dirt road. A off road truck could make it on this dirt road but not dads car. I remember this day so clearly. Its one of those days one never forgets.

The walk over was uneventful. The dock on that side of the lake was not tended to and just above the water. Boards were missing and it was shaky but fish-able. We got our fishing poled rigged up and lines tossed into the water. I started to pull something out of my Dad nap-sack when all of a sudden a new spool of fishing like fell from his sack into the lake. Down and down it went. I watched it in total horror as it made its way to the bottom.

As I looked up I saw that look come upon Dad's face when he was about to let someone have it. The problem was the only one around was me......UGH! But to my surprise Dad did just the opposite. He calmly said as only Dad's can do, 'You better get that out of there'. Needless to say I spent the rest of the day fishing not for fish but for the spool of new fishing line. I never did get that spool back and felt really bad about.

Not that I did not get the spool back but that I let my Dad down by loosing it. The spool was probably $1 which was nothing to toss into the lake but its real value was it was Dad's and I lost it. I did learn a valuable lesson that rainy summers day. Leave my hands out of others people stuff and never try to figure out what Dad was about to do!!!

Happy Monday, hope you day is full of adventure and fun and learning. If not change it while you can...make it full of adventure, fun, and learning. And always at the end of it drop to your knees and thank the one above for the day with the hope of an even better one tomorrow.

Wednesday July 15, 2015 and saw our first real picture of Pluto. Spectacular! No more dot on a solar system map. No more thinking of it in terms of a Disney character. Nope! Its ....well....its.....a planet. How cool is that?

In 1930 is was names a planet. Now 85 years later a little more than the average age of a US citizen and we have our first real picture. 3 Billion miles away and we got a picture. How cool is that?

Now to add some context from someone not born in the 1930's or yet to reach their 80's. Its pretty cool. I remember as a kid looking up into the sky and wondering what is out there, who is out there, and why is out there? Going to school and learning all the planets in our solar system and knowing that Pluto was the last of the planets before we go off into the blackness of our solar system. Growing up watching Lost in Space and all the Apollo missions to the moon and back. Until recently I did not even know a probe was on its way to Pluto but then again that was over a decade ago when it was launched. I suppose I had seen the coverage of the launch and somewhere in the Journals of my mind I have that stored but just can recall it. More and more of that is happening this days. What discovering will come from this.....don't know. Is anyone in our world helped by this great picture of Pluto other then the great people that worked on it all these years?

But today we can make a difference for someone by saying hello or offering a helping hand. Providing a ear to listen to or a shoulder to cry on. Maybe a $1 to get a bite to eat or a water to drink or cool off under. We can look to the heavens and think about that Pluto's probe but look beyond it to the true heavens and thank the one above for ALL that he has bestowed on us. For the endless space he has put above us as he knows man exist for hos purpose and to be curious. How better to keep us occupied than through the debts of the oceans and the light-years of the vastness of space. How cool is that???

So look to the skies and pond the possibilities both in heaven and on earth and the true depths of Gehenna....you will always look upward!!!!

Happy Wednesday and may the one above bless and watch over you all the days of your life.

Tuesday July 21, 2015 and its a hot 90 sunny degrees outside. A typical summers day. Very nice! Its amazing to me as I age how much more I sweat than in my youth. I could be playing baseball, riding my bike, and running around on a summers day and barely work up a sweat. Now I only need to think about going outside and the sweat wells up on my brow. So, anyone that says they never change over time have to be making that declaration for something other then sweating! Gee-gads!

Every once in awhile I get taken back by an experience I was not expecting. Here recently I had one of those experiences. In work we had a large customer order to fulfill and decided to hire some folks for the summer months to do it. We decide college kids would be the ones most interested and we were not disappointed.

These kids were from a variety of colleges and a few just finished high school. These kids came in with positive attitudes, positive work habits, and came to work. Each morning they would show up and go to work. Required little supervision. They formed teams over time and really got the job done. I must admit I was apprehensive of getting a group of such young inexperience folks together for this project but my apprehension was proven wrong. All I could think of is the great job these kids parents did with them to get them so mature for their ages. This group was between 18 and 21 year old's. WOW!

I am so impressed with them. Its a diverse group with a singular mission. Get the products pick, packed, and shipped on time and correct. At the end of their shift they clean up their area, put their tools back to where they belong. They ALL work towards the above mentioned goal. And I am here to say they achieved it! They actually finished the project ahead of schedule. WOW!

So, if this is a snap shot of our future leaders I am impressed. We hear all the negatives about young people and them being lazy and want everything bring done for them. I am hear to attest that is not all of them. I have been blessed with a group of kids that understand the meaning of effort, and work, and neatness, and quality. WOW!

As its time to say goodbye to them as they head back to their respective colleges and universities I tip my hat to them and bid them farewell and best of luck! Our country is awaiting their stewardship and leadership for the future!

Happy Tuesday and happiness to the youth of our great country!

Thursday August 13, 2015 and its a beautiful morning out there. Drives in are back to being dark as the early sunrise is getting later and later. The earlier summer fisherman have to wait a bit longer for first light to get them boats cranked up and head to the spot with the big one.

It always a pleasure in the summer going over the bridge over the lake and see the boats heading up the channel with their navigation lights on put-putting along as dawn breaks. Something special as day breaks for yet another day in this world of ours. It the newness of the morning that carries us through the days trials and tribulations. As if mother nature does a reset and says let's do this again and again and again to eternity. Not sure if its to allow us to get it right or just to make sure we appreciate the newness of a new day. Either way she sure gets it right each and every day.

Its our task to make sure our waking hours get it just as right. Meeting new friends and experiences. Helping and loving all we encounter. Understanding that today is the first day of the rest of our lives. So make today special, embrace the newness of today and reset yourself to throw out the old bad habits and user in the new with the dawn of this new day. As the saying goes be all you can be.....in the eyes of the one above!

Happy Thursday, Happy for the dawn of a new day, Happy just plain ole being Happy!

Monday September 28, 2015 and its cloudy and cool today. Breezy and damp. Sun made a few cameo appearances yesterday before it faded in behind the gray clouds. While it shinned it was very nice. With all the clouds I was not able to see the blood moon last night. Being we are still here today I guess the world did not end due to the blood moon. If it did don't tell me I like the suspense of not knowing.

Seemingly everyone has an opinion on the end times. Opinion is all there is. Well unless you crack open the Bible you have somewhere in your home. Most homes have them. To some the Bible represents the foundation in which they build their lives upon. To others its an object that takes up space in their junk drawer or closet. While other its just an item up in the attic for those moments that come along that need guidance from someone other than family and friends. How ever one uses their Bible is truly their business.

But for the ones that crack it open and fumble their way through the countless pages and passages there is Matthew 24:36. That simply states, "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." That has always been good enough for me. Let's face it, daily life is filled enough with things to do, places to go, and people to meet and help to help to even worry one second when the world will end. Good gracious.....if you can help someone everyday, learn something new everyday, get down on your hands and knees and pray to the one above, that is more then a full day.

So my advise on the overcast cool day is simply, live to love, life to help, live to work hard for your fellow man, and live to thank the one above who will ALWAYS love you more than you could ever fathom... that is my advise and I am sticking to it.

Happy Monday and C'Mon get on those knees and be thankful for all you have and for guidance on who to help and who could benefit from your help the most.

Tuesday December 22, 2015 and its must be the end of the day as its dark outside. Work days are getting longer and longer, year end push to get customer orders outs. But also a great time to close out the year and reflect on how it went personally as well as a member of society.

Each year that passes so much is seen, heard, and learned. So much is shocking yet so much is mundane. It the balance that is the trick to find.

For us Christians there is the birth of our savior and Redeemer which is above all and is the only pure purpose for Christ-mas. Can't have Christ-mas without Christ. You can have gifts and lights and all the fluff that comes with the Holiday season but you will never find the true meaning of Christ-mas. Never before and never again will one person come into this world and carry the burden of everyone on his back literally and figuratively. Both in the cross he carried up that hill named Calvary as well as the people he encountered in his short walk of life.

A child born under that bright Star in a little town of Bethlehem so many years ago but in the history of the world is was only yesterday. He was king but had no military army to command. He was a teacher yet never stepped into a classroom to lecture. He was a provider but never really had a job for pay. Helped his mortal Dad Joseph growing up being a carpenter. Found and taught 12 followers more about life and death then they could ever had imagined. His mother Mary watched him grow and become someone that was without Sin, someone that had more compassion and wisdom then she could ever have imagined and when it was time to take all our Sins and transgressions she watched him be tortured and put to death.

So wen Christ-mas rolls around each year for me its not about the hustle and bustle and bright shinning light bulb or evergreen tree. Its simply about thanking the one above for sending his only Son down to earth and taking on all the evil and Sins mankind had mustard up to that point and washed them away in one final breath......

But Christ-mas is about the birth of our Lord and Savior and the love he has taught us to bestow on our fellow man each and everyday. That is enough for me.
Wishing all a very Merry CHRIST-mas and Happiest of New Years.....

Thursday January 14, 2016 and its 27 crisp, clear, and cool outside. Even thou it was dark this morning driving in I knew it was clear as I saw the stars and moon in the early morning sky. I could not help but to glance up at the sky and wonder about the vastness of space. We are conditioned from birth to think in terms of a beginning and an end. An Alpha and a Omega, a start and and a finish.

The concept of endless seems so foreign. What is endless? Seemingly our modern definition of endless is what our government spends on our behalf. They endlessly spend our tax money on everything and anything.....that is seemingly endless. But that is not endless just appears as such. Endless is our sky that turns in space that turns into galaxies that turns into....into.....into...Heaven for the believers. The one above is the Alpha and the Omega. The one above is the start and the finisher. The one above is the true beginning and the end. Everything else in between is our domain and the domain of our ancestors and our future generations to come.

What we do in our domain each and everyday has everything to do with the here and now, and the without end part. As in the vastness of space we have a vastness in our life span. We can do nothing and watch the world go by or we can help our fellow human being with whatever resources we have. From a simple hello to a stranger to a couple of bucks to a street corner beggar, to a elderly person who has no one to say hello to. The one above said it simply and clearly; Love thy neighbor as thyself. He did not say to do it when it convenient to, or sometimes, or sort of. No! His command was without qualifier. It is for always and everywhere you encounter a neighbor. That is endless a good definition of endless for me.

So on this special day, yes everyday one wakes up and takes that first breath of air it becomes special, reach out and tell your neighbor hello, how are you, do you need any help with anything? And to have a blessed day. The one above is counting on it!!!

So from the bottom of the souls of my feet to the top of the few hairs I have left on my head I bid you all a great and endless day of happiness, tranquility, prayers to the one above, and thanksgiving. You are all special in the eyes of the one above, never forget that!!!!!

I will leave you with a beautiful song that I trust will make you have a beautiful day.......turn up the sound, sit back, and let your mind wander to a happy place!

Friday January 14, 2016 and its dark, cool, and 30 degrees heading on up to 57 with afternoon rain. The rain will user in the cold weather for the weekend but no white puffy stuff not soggy stuff! So we have that going for us.

Ah we are on the threshold of another weekend. Not a weekday to long either in my humble opinion. Another day closer to the great economy crash of 2016. I am amazed but I guess should not be with all the people that predict the future with such assurances. Youtube is abound with predictors of the great dollar crash, down to the day February 16 to 19th. The day banks will close and people will not be able to get their money out of ATM's, credit card transactions will not work, food stores will be overrun with stampedes of people that need anything on the shelves. Cars will lie idle along roadways as gas pumps will not take credit nor debit cards. Our world as we know it will take a giant steps back to the early 1930's. A time called the Great Depression.

It will be time to look on the mirror and ask yourself can I get through this or not? The answers will shock most I believe. What will your answer be?

Mine will be my Grandparents got through it. In fact they came over from Italy right before the Depression and landed up going back to Italy until it was over. Think for a moment how tough that was. A young family that scrapped enough money to come over to America only to find out the land of milk and honey was broke. My Grandfather tried to find work in the NY/NJ area and nothing. Food was short and money was shorter. By luck or the grace of the one above he was able to get his family back on a boat heading to Italy where they waited out the Depression and tried again. But then again he also was a prisoner of war during WWI. Captured in the Alps of Italy by the Germans. So he knew hardship and got through it. There was a reason those folks back then we called the Greatest Generation right through the survivors of WWII.

But speed up the clock to today. How many will survive without TV, cell phones, Pizza delivery, eating once per day, going without elicit as well as prescriptions drugs. Oh my! Time will tell, it is the great equalizer.

But I have no faith in Youtube wise-men, my faith is resting solely on the one above. He says no one will know the time nor place of my return but my Father and that is good enough for me. From the same Father that wrote in stone, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy brother", in other words don't lie. So I tend to put my trust and faith in him from above. So fret not, the future is just that. Live in the present and be good, be kind, and always by prayerful.

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend. Party likes it 1999....I heard that in a song somewhere!!!

Monday January 18, 2016 and its a cool sunny 32 degrees outside heading all the way up to 34 degrees. Yesterdays morning rain intermixed with large flakes of snow and that was pretty. It did not last long in terms of the time it fell and once it hit the ground but none the less it was the first official snow falling this winter. So past the half way mark of January I'll take it.

Conversely to the snow falling yesterday we cut the grass on Saturday. Grass it still a growing. would have been a good evening to light up a bonfire and watch the night go by. But that will have to wait for another day. I did manage to split up some more logs to have at the ready for the next bonfire. A 20 pound sludge hammer does give you a work out for sure. I also walked the perimeter of my fence line and mended the fence in a couple of places where tree limbs came down and damaged the fence. ....I thought of the old saying, if a tree falls in the forest does it make sound? Well a couple of trees fell on my property and I didn't hear them.....I am sure I did not hear them as I was not present them they fell. But I have cut down enough trees to know they do in fact make noise when they fall. In fact the big ones shake the ground your standing on.

Happy Monday and Happy to wish you all a great day an evening. Happy to have the one above in my life. And would be doubly happy if you let the one above into your life......he is waiting......take that step!!!!! Please.

Tuesday January 19, 2016 and it a cold 19 degrees outside heading all the way down to 16 degrees. Tomorrow will be a passing flurry or two in the afternoon. Had to jump start my old vehicle I use only once a week. Today was the once in the week I needed to use it and the battery said...no way. But a quick jump from my other vehicle and vroom. Started up and I used it for a quick trip and all is well.

Speaking of deep subjects like wells. I ask you to crack open your Bible, c'mon you know you have one. Just find it.. I'll wait......playing Final Jeopardy song in my head.

Good you found it. Fantastic. Now open it up to 1John Chapter 5. Keep flipping those pages....its way in the back. There you go almost there.........Ah found it! Perfect. Amen.

Now take a moment and read it. Start to finish. Its short you can do it. Title of the Chapter should be something like, "Faith is Victory over the World". This is simply a great guide to put life in perspective. Hopefully your life. If you don't get it the first time that is A-Okay.....Read it again and again if needed but the word from the one above is in this Chapter. How sweet it is. It speaks of Faith in Jesus, commandants, which we are to know and live by, and simply asking do you believe or not?

Happy Tuesday and may you provide hope to all that are near you and not need hope yourself. May you lighten someones day with a smile and not ever darken it with a frown. May you forgive those that crossed you and not hold a grudge. May your night be peaceful, thoughtful, and prayerful.

Friday January 22, 2016 and its still a Wintry Mix is snow, sleet, rain, icing. Same as today. I went out to shovel earlier today and it was to cold as I went out later this evening and was able to get down to the concrete. Warmed up a bit. As I shoveled I could not help but let my mind slip back to the days growing up in N.E. PA. Days like today as a were ho-hum. We would not have school off. We would walk up to our school up hill most of the way, slippery or not. Recess would be indoors only. Relegated to our classroom and sometimes to the Gym. Our elementary school had no cafeteria. In fact it was not until the 5th grade that lunch were brought into out school. We would go down into the basement and get our little plastic tote tray that had our lunch. We had three choices, hamburg & fries or Hot Dog & fries and on Friday it was two pieces of Pizza. That was the lunch menu five days a week. But lunch is for another post. This one is about Wintry Mix and school....

We would stare out the windows wondering if we would get out of school early due to the weather. Early release was non existent back then, if you made it to school you were there for the duration. Our classrooms looked like an classroom back in the day. Windows on one side of the room that went from almost floor to ceiling. Ceilings were high, I am guess at least 12 to 15 feet high. Front of the room has the teachers desk either in the middle of the front area or one one side or the other. The teachers would generally change the placement of there desk throughout the year. Behind the 'her', in that day almost every teach was a female. We had our first Male teacher in the 6th grade. The walls were covered with maps of the US and sometimes the world. There was also cutouts of our AB & C's. There was our art made of whatever season it was.

Outside of each classroom was always a coatroom, were your truly was banished to a time of two throughout the school year. In grades 1 through 4 we had the old single desk were the wood top would open to put our things in. In 5th and 6th grade we had modern desk that could be set up individually or together as quad tables. That was our first exposure of working in teams. Was ho-hum to us. Oh yea each classroom had a phone so the teacher could call the office and a large faced clock were we would watch the minutes pass day after day.

On days like today the teacher would sometimes take the time to give us a meteorology lesson on why we were getting sleet and not snow or rain that turned to ice. Needless to say these days seemed to take forever until that bell rang at 3:30 PM. But when it rang we tossed our books into our desk. Flew to the coatroom put in our coats, hats, gloves, boots, and smiles! It was time to hit the ice!!!

Out the front or side door of the school out across the street and down the first big hill. The great thing about our school is that it was smack dab on the top of a hill. Only way home was down one of the four roads that got one to and from the school. Our route headed south. Sliding and slipping down the hill and across another street and up to the 10 pairs of steps that brought us down another hill. These were the steps on the one side of the abandoned parked we lived by. The steps had a railing in the middle of them that was made with pipe and was great to slide down. Once we cleared the steps we hit a bust street. In fact my one friend lived on that street and one day he ran out of his house and jumped on is bike and did not look and ended up under a moving car that drug him 65 feet. I remember that number as if it was yesterday. So for that road we had a older gentlemen that crossed us every morning and every afternoon without miss. Once across the street we had another 3 or 4 city blocks to get to our houses.

It was a fun time and it was a safe time and it was an amazing time. How lucky and thankful to the one above I am to have grown up when I did and where I did. Truly amazing!!!!

Happy Friday and hope your childhood was as amazing and fun as mine. We learned allot on our own. Our mothers never hovered over us, in fact they encouraged us to try things on our own and be independent not dependent. Not sure we can say that today and that is sad.

So I leave you with a special song....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP6B9HttRI8

A milestone of sorts if one counts those things. in 1000 post I may have typed 1000000 words, who knows. Better statement is who cares I suppose. But irregardless of the number of words or letters or post I only hope the theme was constant. and that was, is, and will continue to be....

Live today the best way you can.
Live in the present and not the past nor future.
Make sure today you laugh, love, and cry....
Make sure you get on your knees and thank the
one above for yesterday, today, and the hope of tomorrow.
Love everyone as you want to be loved.
Smile it is the light of the world to the ones you meet.
Don't steal but give, give till it hurts.
Play in the snow, build a snowman or snow angel.
    Play in the rain.
    Play in the mud.
Dream and be creative.....remember there is NO ONE in the world just like you!
No matter what, learn something new today.
Explore the area around you today and always, its amazing what awaits you!!!
Say the Pledge of Allegiance, when have you said it last?
    'On nation under God
with Liberty and Justice for ALL'

Not a few, not one, not a Billion.....but for ALL!

Have a fantastic Wednesday and my thanks to the one above for everything he has filled these 1000 post with!
