  • Water Quality Violation
    TSSP&S 265.204 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Water Quality, pages 66 - 67 and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). Pool/spa operators and managers shall maintain the quality of water in all pools and spas to comply with City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Water quality tests at Class C & D pools and spas at Class C facilities are not conducted at required intervals. Tests are not conducted everyday.
    Corrective action: When open, water quality tests for disinfectant level and pH at Class C & D pools and spas at Class C facilities shall be conducted at least once per day or more often if necessary to assure proper disinfectant and pH levels. If an automatic control system for disinfectant and pH is in place, disinfectant and pH levels must be measured at least once each day.
  • Disinfectant Equipment and Chemical Feeders
    TSSP&S 265.197 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Disinfectant Equipment and Chemical Feeders, pages 48 - 49; TDSPSPC 337.92 (Eff Jun 13, 1965). Disinfectant equipment and chemical feeders shall be designed, constructed, installed, maintained and operated to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Disinfection agents and other chemicals are not properly stored.
    Corrective action: Disinfection agents or other chemicals and feed equipment shall be stored away from pool and spa users, off the floor in a dry, above ground level room and protected against flooding or wetting from floor, walls, and ceiling. Chlorine compounds shall not be stored in the same area as petroleum products.

All suction outlets and return inlets shall be designed, constructed, installed, maintained and operated to comply with all applicable provisions of the City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Suction outlet system is not upgraded.
    Corrective action: Suction outlet systems shall be upgraded to comply with all other provisions of either TSSP& S 265.190 (d) or (e)(1) or (e)(2) no later than January 1, 2005. Water feature pumps must be turned off until issue is corrected. Correct within 4 days. Failure to keep pumps turned off will result in a citation.

    Corrective action: Inspection of working Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter for pool/spa equipment shall be tested and recorded at least one time per week and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. Condition of Pool yard enclosure and gates shall be inspected and recorded weekly and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request.

Pool yard enclosures shall be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Adequate enclosure is not provided. Structure by inside of fence allows for climbing. Adequate gates/doors are not provided. Emergency gate does not self close and latch from the 6 inch open position.
    Corrective action: The enclosure for all pools and spas (other than new Class A & B pools) which may include a fence, portion of a building, wall or other durable enclosure not associated with private premises shall have a minimum effective perpendicular height of four (4) feet measured from the deck surface on the outside of the fence, shall not be readily climbable with horizontal members less than 45 inches between their tops or have vertical members more than four (4) inches apart or a space below the fence greater than 4" inches. If the horizontal members are less than 45 inches apart, the vertical members shall be spaced no more than 1 " apart. Class C pools with chain link shall have until January 7, 2007 to comply with the city ordinance. Climbable structures shall not be located near the fence. All gates or doors for pools and spas (other than new Class A & B pools) shall be lockable and equipped with self-locking and self-latching devices. An inaccessible opener mounted on the enclosure shall be installed at least 3.5 feet above the deck/walkway surface, shall open outward away from the pool/spa and shall be latched when the pool or spa is not in use or when nearby or associated pools/spas are closed as a result of a hazard or other unsafe condition. All ingress and egress to access a pool or spa shall be through common pool enclosure gates or doors.

Safety features and equipment shall be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Properly designed deck depth markings are not provided. One area by back brick wall is > 25 feet apart. Properly designed deck "NO DIVING" markings are not provided. Float lines with adequate floats or floor markings are not provided where required. Missing floor line at shallow side of 3 feet depth marker.
    Corrective action: Deck markings shall include slip resistant depth marker numbers and units (feet or Ft.; inches or In.; Meters or M) which are at least four inches high, a permanent and contrasting color to the background, positioned within 24 inches of the water's edge and readable when facing the water, uniformly arranged around the pool including installations at the minimum and maximum depths, at slope changes and at intermediate increments of water depth not to exceed two feet. Post 10/1/99 pool depth markers shall be spaced at distances not greater than 25 feet intervals, and with a minimum of at least one marker per pool side. Slip resistant deck signs containing the warning words "NO DIVING" and the international symbol for no diving, shall be clearly marked in contrasting colors and four inch letters, will be placed within 24 inches of water's edge and readable when facing the pool and shall be placed every 25 feet around the pool deck or at a minimum where water is six feet deep or less. At least two warnings including the "NO DIVING" and international no diving symbol, shall be provided at the extreme ends of the minimum depth and at the extreme ends of the maximum depth at 6 feet. Float lines with adequate floats and floor markings shall include for Class A & B pools a rope and float line on the shallow side of the five foot depth across the entire width of the pool and a four inch visible marking at the transition point to five foot depth. The floats shall be spaced at not greater than 7 foot intervals and be secured. For Class C pools, the transition point to five foot depth shall be visually separated by a four inch visible marking.

    Corrective action: Repair wall as discussed to bring to code as required. Enclosure does not meet code under which it was built. 21 days.
