Safety features and equipment shall be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to comply with all applicable provisions of City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    The throwing rope is damaged, broken or is not properly attached or maintained. MISSING THROW ROPE. Pools/spas are not provided with properly designed or adequate handholds or railings. LADDER RAIL MISSING END CAPS. Required telephone emergency sign(s) are not provided inside pool yard enclosure. MISSING PHONE LOCATION SIGNS ON ALL GATES.
    Corrective action: The throwing rope shall be repaired or properly attached and maintained. At each Class C pool, one light, strong, non-telescoping, non-conducting 12 foot long or longer pole with attached body hook or shepherd's crook and one throwing rope that reaches at least 2/3 the maximum pool width with firmly attached 15 - 24 inch Coast Guard approved ring buoy shall be mounted in a conspicuous place within 20 feet of the pool. Both shall be provided for each 2,000 square feet of water surface and shall be accessible. Pools/spas shall be provided with handholds such as coping, rope, railing, ledge or deck along top edge of pool which provides slip-resistant surfaces. Pools/spas shall be provided with ladders, stairs or seat ledges that comply with handhold requirements and state standards. INSTALL END CAPS ON LADDERS TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE ON SIDEWALLS. A sign in plain view of the pool or spa shall state in letters at least one inch high:"In Case of Emergency, Call 911" (or other appropriate emergency number or action). If the location of the phone or other means of electronic communication is not readily visible from the pool or spa, the sign shall include the concise description of the location of the telephone or electronic means.
  • Pool & Spa Operation and Maintenance
    Texas Health & Safety Code - Minimum Standards of Sanitation & Health Protection, Chapter 341.064 and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). An owner, manager, operator or other attendant in charge shall maintain the pools, spas, bathhouses and the surroundings in a sanitary condition at all times.
    The wainscot of the pool, spa, their component parts or bathhouse and its surroundings are not maintained in good repair. TILES HAVE BATHTUB RING. (SCUM LINE)
    Corrective action: Maintain the wainscot pool, spa, their component parts or bathhouse and its surroundings in good repair at all times.
  • Electrical Requirements
    TSSP&S 265.192 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Electrical Requirements, pages 43 - 45; TDSPSPC 337.93 (Eff Jun 13, 1965)and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). All electrical components shall be designed, constructed, installed, maintained and operated to comply with all applicable provisions of the City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    Electrical equipment or components are not installed properly. PUMP IS NOT GROUNDED.
    Corrective action: All electrical equipment and electrical components shall be installed according to City of Fort Worth electrical codes and to meet the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Fort Worth Ordinance
    Weekly inspection of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter not recorded. Weekly inspection of Pool yard enclosure and gates are not recorded. Operational records of emergency telephone test results are not maintained. A conspicuously posted sign stating "Diaper Changing in the pool/spa area is Prohibited" is not provided. Nationally Accredited/Trained pool/spa operator certificate not prominently posted.
    Corrective action: Inspection of working Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter for pool/spa equipment shall be tested and recorded at least one time per week and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. Condition of Pool yard enclosure and gates shall be inspected and recorded weekly and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. Emergency Telephone operation shall be tested and recorded monthly and be made available to the Director or his/her representative upon request. A sign visible from the pool or spa enclosure shall state in letters at least 2" in height "Diaper Changing in the Pool/Spa area is Prohibited". Provide proof of having a Nationally Accredited or Trained pool/spa operator by posting prominently their current and valid certificate.
  • Operation and Management
    TSSP&S 265.203 (Eff Oct 1, 1999) - Operation and Management, pages 64 - 66 and FW Ordinance #12156-Sec 16.459-462 (Sep 12, 1995). Pool/spa operators and managers shall operate and manage all pools and spas to comply with City of Fort Worth Ordinances and the State Standard.
    At least one Nationally Accredited or Trained pool/spa operator is not available.
    Corrective action: Pools and spas shall be maintained under the supervision and direction of a Nationally Accredited or Trained pool/spa operator who is responsible for the sanitation, safety and proper maintenance of the pool/spa and all physical and mechanical equipment and records.
  • CLOSURE NOTICE
    You are hereby notified that you must take immediate action to close your pool to the public until appropriate corrective actions are taken to safeguard the public from hazards detailed above in this report.
    Serious health violations were identified during today's health inspection. You must close your pool immediately to the public until appropriate corrective actions are completed.
    Corrective action: Before the facility named in this report can reopen for swimming pool/spa operations to the public, the owner/operator must take immediate corrective action to correct identified hazards and request a re-inspection by a Code Compliance Consumer Health Specialist. A fee of $125.00 will be required before any re-inspection may be conducted. Payment shall be made at 1800 University Dr. Room 219, Fort Worth, TX 76107 or by phone at 817-871-7255. Each re-inspection will require the fee be paid prior to the Consumer Health Specialists return. The closed pool/spa must meet minimum standards before it can be re-opened.
  • COMMENT:
    REINSPECTION FEE IS WAIVED DUE TO POOL ALREADY BEING CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE.
    Corrective action: BE SURE TO LOCK GATES AND POST POOL CLOSURE SIGNS.
