I believe the answer is generally yes. I remember when Clinton was in office, the Forest Service here in Alaska implimented closing forest roads that had been in use for like forever, to all off-road vehicle use. Signs appeared on these roads that said "Closed to Motorized Vehicles". Many of them also had locked steel gates appear almost overnight...
I'm concerned about more future restrictive "rules" for snow machine and ATV's as well...

Bud

The ironic part is most offroaders are great stewards of the land and leave it better than they found it. I would trade a few tire tracks for trash cleanup deep in the woods anytime! Almost everyone I ever offroaded with brought trash bags and spent some time loading a bag or two while out having fun.

Not sure it can get worse, under Bush/Cheney we've seen nearly all of our public trials up here in NE England closed. We offroaders subsists mostly on private land now, working with the landowners to develop responsible trail networks and usage.

The United States Government is the largest land owner in the United States, thanks to Bill Clinton. That will surely continue in an Obama Administration. You can guarantee it.

What is wrong with protecting federal land for wildlife management?

Thank you Bill Clinton. I don't understand why people who vote republican hate the environment. Can one of you explain this to me? Do you not want God's country to be protected for your grandchildren? Whats the deal?

Good also that people can't drive their jeeps and hummers destroying natural land. I hate these idiots. That is the way fat people from Texas hike.

No one said we hate the environment... What we do in offroading has no ill effect in the environment. We stick to designated trails, leave no trash, and are very responsible witht eh trails in general.

Sounds like the future of OHV use on federal land should trump the economy, foreign policy, national security, and taxes. Let's all vote for Sarah Palin . . . oops, I mean McCain.
