A few people on the Triangle, NC Forum have pointed out that there are several "bogus" pictures of Durham, NC posted on the Citi-Data Profile for the city which can be found at the following link:
Another shows a muddy field filled with seagulls with the caption:
"Durham's downtown renewal effort began 15 years ago at Brightleaf Square, once the tobacco-packaging and -trading hub of the city"
Brightleaf Square is a beautiful renovated urban center of downtown Durham. Not a seagull infested bog.
Looks like somebody is using the city data site to make fun of Durham. These pictures are purposely misleading. Several forum members from the Triangle forum have indicated that they have contacted the moderator or administrator about this but have not received a response.
I guess I am wondering why this has not been corrected? What gives?
I've noticed wrong pictures in other C-D reference pages as well. I'm assuming that we are to bring it to the attention to the Administrator? If not could somebody inform us where to report such mistakes?
I've not only seen pictures of a totally different city in a group of photos pertaining to that city but also mislabeled captions for photos even though they may correspond to the correct city.
Forum moderators do not have any access to change or edit these pages.
Yes these are the ones I mentioned in an earlier thread (a couple of them) as well. I don't know how they got there but they really need to go. If I had seen those pictures prior to relocating I may not have moved here, and I have yet to see any houses as dilapidated as the ones on that page. They are really quite misleading.
I sent a Direct Message to the Administrator on October 4th about these photos. According to this system's software, that message has not even been read yet.
