I think I've seen this feature on other versions of vBulletin, where the forum software allows you to select whether or not you are automatically subscribed to threads that you either start or post in. I looked around and could not find if that's possible here.
It's a really great feature, and would be good for the forum overall. If a person starts a thread and doesn't manually subscribe to it, they could get responses to the OP and not know it unless they browsed that thread. If you are subscribed to a thread, you can get email notification whenever someone posts in it. Good for the OP, and good for promoting participation in the forum.

Scroll down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and set what you want (On some sites I have it set to "No email notification" as then it just adds it to my list of threads.......
