Getting a ton of duplicates in the last few days...

I am getting a ton of notices of responses to threads that are simply duplicates of previous notices already received.

For example this morning I got five notices of a response to a thread I am on.

And four of another.

It appears that the software here is sending out a notice for every post, posted. And not just one notice indicating that new posts have been posted.

The notices contain within them the first new post but then seem to repeat it for as many new posts as have been posted.

I have also noticed that the server is under heavy load at times such that I cannot access the forum and that it says so in a message.

Could these extraneous duplicates being mailed out have anything to do with the heavy load?
